2 dead, 30 missing after Portuguese-era bridge collapses in Goa


2 people have died and 30 others are missing after a Portuguese-era bridge on Sanvordem river collapsed in Curchorem, South Goa in the evening on Thursday. At least 50 people were standing on the dilapidated bridge when it caved in near Curchorem village. The people had gathered to watch the rescue operation of a youth, who had jumped into the river to commit suicide, the police said.
