Afghanistan has created history in its second Twenty20 International against Ireland at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Afghanistan scored 278 for the loss of three wickets in the 20 overs and registered the highest-ever total in T20s. Afghanistan broke the record of Australia. Australia had scored 263/3 back in 2016 against Sri Lanka.
Hazratullah Zazai was a star performer in Afghanistan’s innings with a score of 162 runs from just 62 balls. He hit 11 fours and 16 sixes and scored 140 runs from boundaries alone. Usman Ghani also made a significant partnership with his 73 runs from 48 balls including 7 fours and three sixes. The 236 run partnership of Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani beat the earlier record of Australia’s Aaron Finch and Darcy Short who had a score of 223-runs.
