Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana died in Delhi on 27 October 2018 night after a prolonged illness. He was 82. Khurana, a BJP leader, was the chief minister of Delhi from 1993 to 1996. He said his father was suffering from a chest infection and fever for last few days and was feeling breathless since 27 October 2018 morning.
He had suffered a brain haemorrhage about five years ago and had been ailing since then. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. One of Khurana’s sons had died Last On September. Winning ten out of eleven elections he contested in Delhi till 2003.
Khurana was one of BJP’s more successful leaders whose mass appeal had translated into votes for the party. Khurana also served as governor of Rajasthan in 2004. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is visiting Japan.
