Haryana opens four subsidised canteens under Antyodaya Aahaar Yojan

The Haryana government on 17th February 2018 opened subsidised canteens in four districts Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar and Yamunanagar under the ‘Antyodaya Aahaar Yojana’ that will offer a meal at Rs. 10 to the poor. The government plans to establish a total of 23 such canteens. This initiative will benefit the poor with the meal being worth a total of 1,150 calories.

The actual cost of each plate is Rs 20 but state government will be paying half of the price and the rest will be paid by the beneficiary. The food would be served to registered construction workers and all other poor and needy persons in these canteens between 11 am to 4 pm daily.

These food canteens have been temporarily opened at Women Training Centre building, Dabua Colony, Faridabad, Shelter Home of Municipal Corporation at Bheem Nagar, Sector-5, Gurugram, Vishwakarma Dharamshala, Auto Market, Hisar and Labour Shed near ITI in Yamunanagar. One such canteen has already functional at Sonipat. These will be shifted to the buildings being constructed at Bhuteshwar mandir Chowk, Gurugram, Nagar Sudhar mandal Office land, Hisar, Haryana Labour Welfare Board Campus, Dabua Colony, Faridabad and Labour Shed, Labour Colony, Yamunanagar.
