India and World Bank Signed USD 400M Loan Agreement to Eliminate TB

The World Bank and the Government of India signed a loan agreement of $400 Million for the Program. Towards the Elimination of Tuberculosis(TB) to kill half a million people in India every year.
The program will cover nine States of India.

The Loan Agreement signed by Mr. Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. It supports the government’s National Strategic Plan to end TB in India by 2025. Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) given to the patients for acquiring the critical nutrition needed during treatment.

Around $ 400 Million loans from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has a 19-year maturity. It includes a 5-year grace period.
