India could remove export duty on sugar to raise prices, says food minister

India is considering scrapping the 20% export duty on sugar, Ram Vilas Paswan, minister for food and consumer affairs, said on Friday. The government is trying various ways to lift prices of the sweetener amid expectations of a surge in production this marketing year.
