These include agreement on Defence Co-operation, Visa waiver of Diplomatic & Official Passport holders, Cultural Exchange Programme, Manpower Co-operation agreement, Co-operation in field of Health and Medicine. The whole gamut of relations between the two nations were discussed with a special focus on strategic, economic and cultural ties.
After the talks, India and Jordan inked 12 Agreements and MoUs. Twining Agreement between Agra and Petra, Cooperation between IIMC and Jordan Media Institute. Prasar Bharati and Jordan Television. MoU between University of Jordan and ICCR for setting up of Hindi Chair.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jordanian King, King Abdullah II attended a conference on ‘Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding & Moderation’. Representatives from Islamic institutions of all denominations from across the country attended the event.
The event also witnessed the release of the Urdu translation of a book titled ‘A Thinking Person’s Guide to Islam’. The book was authored by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad bin Talal, a cousin of the King. The King is known for his global initiative to fight radicalization and terrorism.
