Indian Railway’s first set of solar plant of 5 MW capacity launched

The first set of solar plants with a total capacity of 5 megawatts launched in New Delhi Division by the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday. The project of Indian Railways is planning to start one thousand Megawatt solar plants across the whole network under National Solar Mission.Inaugurating the international conference on Green Initiatives and Railway Electrification Goyal said that the mindset of Indian Railways has changed, we are working with a can-do spirit that we can achieve aggressive targets. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are witnessing the changing confidence and attitude to work in the Railways. Our approach to development is a positivity in taking forward good plans in mission mode to come up with solutions.He further added that two and a half years after launching UJALA, more than 750 million incandescent bulbs in India have been replaced by LED bulbs. As the nation moves on its journey towards New India, Indian Railways will also evolve into New Indian Railways.
