India’s Neeraj Goyat is WBC Asia Boxer of the Year

Indian pugilist Neeraj Goyat has been conferred with the WBC Asia Boxer of the Year Award. Neeraj is the current WBC Asia champion in welter weight category. Since turning pro in 2011, Neeraj has won nine fights including two knockouts.

Neerav Tomar, promoter of IOS Boxing Promotions which manages Neeraj and Vijender Singh, was bestowed with ‘WBC Asia honorary Promoter of the year 2017 Award’ by the Asian Boxing Council at WBC Asia and WBC Muaythai annual awards presentation ceremony in Bangkok on 30 April 2018

A total of 10 women and six men have made the cut for the championships in Hungary. The challenge in the women’s department will be spearheaded by world champions Nitu (48 kg) and Sakshi (57 Kg) and national champion Jony (60 kg). Accompanying them will be world bronze-medallist Neha Yadav (+81 kg), Asian gold-medallist Manisha (64 kg) and Lalita (69 kg) along with silver-medallists Anamika (51 kg), Astha Pahwa (75 kg) and Sakshi Gaidhani (81 kg) and bronze medal winner Divya Pawar (54 kg).
