Ministry of Railways launches new user interface of its e-ticketing system

The Ministry of Railways has launched a new version of user interface for its online travel portal, The new link offers user-friendly features to enable easier navigation and smooth transition of bookings and cancellations.

The new version would enable the users to enquire, search trains and check the availability of seats without login, thereby saving the time of the users. It also includes single screen information about trains including the train no, train name, originating and destination station and distances between them, arrival and departure time and journey time. The users would also be able to change the font size throughout the website for a comfortable viewing experience. The new version of the portal includes enhanced class-wise, train-wise, destination-wise, departure/arrival time wise and quota-wise filters for facilitating users while planning their journeys.

The portal has invited users to initially switch to the beta version of the website and get firsthand experience of its look, feel and usage for a period of 15 days during which they can also give suggestions for further changes and improvement of the site. After 15 days, the beta version of the new interface will replace the old interface of IRCTC e-ticketing portal enabling a smooth transition of the users to the new interface.
