Olympic silver medallist Sushil returned to the mat at the National Championship recently and went on to become the national champion. He then followed up the home success by bagging a gold medal in the Commonwealth Wrestling Championship.
Among the women, the highest bid came for World Championship gold medallist Helen Maroulis (Under-57kg category) of the United States, who was bought for Rs 44 lakh from Haryana Hammers. In other bids, India wrestlers Bajrang Punia, who will compete in the 65kg, was bought by UP Dangal for Rs 25 lakh while Vinesh Phogat, who earned Rs 40 lakh, will ply her trade for UP Dangal as well.
